29th November 2007 – The Mayor of Clare has called on the Government to fast track the establishment of a full US Customs and Border Protection Inspection post at Shannon Airport.
Cllr. Patricia McCarthy said that the Government must quickly sort out any legal and financial obstacles to the proposed development if it wishes Shannon Airport to develop business in an Open Skies era.

, Wed 28th November 2007 – Clare County Council today signed a EUR7m contract with P & D Lydon Plant Hire Ltd. of Gortacurra, Cross, Co. Mayo to provide a Bundled Sewerage Scheme for five villages and towns in Clare.

Up to 100 children from across Clare will gather in the West County Hotel, Ennis tomorrow (Wednesday) to share their school experiences and opinions on the future development of play and recreational policies. The meeting has been organised by the Clare County Development Board, as part of the Comhairle na nÓg or ‘youth council’ initiative. The media is invited to attend. Interview and photograph opportunities will be provided between 9.30am and 10am. Photograph opportunities between 10am and 2pm can be arranged by contacting Mark Dunphy (see below contact details).
